As a photographer I have always strived to create thought provoking images, as well as automotive images both documentary and experimental with bold texture, vivid color, and sense of depth. I have always described them as a little raw and with an attitude.
Starting at a young age taking surfing photos with film, and working in my father’s dark room, I learned how to manipulate the outcome of my images modifying negatives by cutting, overlaying, and sandwiching, along with dodging and burning. Today working with a digital camera and post-processing in a computer, this process is not much different.
Primarily a fine art automotive photographer, I also have another passion. All things transportation. Through the years I have found there's something magical about visual storytelling.
Using a camera during my life has lead me to share that "storytelling" part of my personality. I think you'll find them very distinctive and even quirky.
When asked, "How do you creatively think of these images?" I answer, "I don't really know, they are just continually swimming around in my head." I just need to let them out and let their story be told whether in the form of crusty abstracts, vintage trailers, or beautiful automotive images.
I have presented my award-winning work in a variety of shows, including the Palm Springs Art Museum, Laguna Beach Festival of Arts, Gallery by the Sea Carmel, Forest & Ocean Gallery, Laguna Art-A-Fair, The San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild and the San Diego Art Institute in Balboa Park. My work has appeared in the automotive section of “The New York Times,” “Road and Track Magazine,” and the publication “Nine over Nine,” as well as feature stories and covers for several other automotive magazines. I am a current member of the San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild, as well as the Motor Press Guild.
I invite you to bring bits of memory and wonder into your life and home, through my ready to hang framed prints infused onto gloss metal.
